Ethiopian Oromia Coffee – Fruity, Winey & Full-Bodied

Grown at around 1600 metres above sea level in the Oromia region of south west Ethiopia, this crafted coffee brings together beans from just six small farms, all producing traditional Eastern African Heirloom varieties. This carefully selected lot shows exactly why Ethiopian coffee holds such a strong reputation, offering a bold and expressive cup that stays true to its origin. While it shares similarities with classic profiles like Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, it leans less floral and instead delivers a deeper, fuller character that stands out for its richness and balance.

Coffee Quality in Oromia, Ethiopia

  • High altitude growing conditions at ~1600 masl support slow bean development and improved flavour density
  • Eastern African Heirloom varieties are known for complex and distinctive cup profiles
  • Small farm sourcing helps maintain consistency and careful selection
  • Ethiopia is widely recognised as the birthplace of coffee, with strong global demand for its speciality beans

Tasting Notes – Fruity, Winey & Sweet

This coffee delivers a lively and layered cup. Expect bright fruit notes up front, followed by a wine-like richness that adds depth and character. A natural sweetness rounds everything out, while the full body gives the coffee a smooth and satisfying finish. Compared to more floral Ethiopian coffees, this profile feels bolder and more grounded, making it ideal for those who enjoy fruit-driven coffees with a richer edge.
